Dutch artist Igor van Laere (b. 1965) has been sketching and painting since the 1980s.
His inspiration comes from traveling the streets of the world, meeting people, cultures and colors.
As a technique, Igor uses brushes and putty knives to turn a combination of acrylic paint, ecoline ink, chalk and painter’s tape into a creative work of art.
Emotions and media arise in him and point the way, not knowing where to go.
The art of allowing freedom to emerge.

Inspiration gives direction
Igor van Laere’s paintings arise fluidly. From inspiration. Images from his travels. Colors mix spontaneously. Like a poet feels words flow. Wandering in thoughts. Painting by feel. With unknown destination. Until the moment of letting go.
